<p>Tout comme en EDS, la détection est parallèle, vous pourrez donc analyser plusieurs éléments en même temps. Mais à la différence de l’EDS, le détecteur SXES a une résolution en énergie de 0,3 eV (Fermi-edge, Al-L standard) surpassant même très largement la résolution d’un WDS (8 eV).</p>

<p>Le design innovant du système optique de ce spectromètre imaginé par JEOL permet la mesure simultanée de spectres avec des énergies différentes (pouvant descendre jusqu’à 50 eV), sans déplacer le réseau de diffraction ou même le détecteur (caméra CCD).</p>

<p>Exemple du nitrure de titane avec les différentes méthodes de spectrométrie.<br />
Pour le nitrure de titane, les pics de N -Ka et Ti- Ll se chevauchent en EDS. C’est le cas également du WDS, où il est tout de même possible de les différencier par déconvolution mathématique.<br />
Comme illustré dans la figure ci-dessous, seule la résolution en énergie du SXES permet d’observer directement la raie Ti- Ll.</p>

<div>Tout comme pour le carbone, les composés de l’azote peuvent être différenciés. En effet, les formes des pics des nitrates et des nitrures ne présentent pas la même morphologie spectrale.
